The quintet is joined by Frank McKearn on the Electronic Valve Instrument, typically referred to as the EVI (pronounced ee-vee).
The EVI is an electric controller that mimics a trumpet fingering pattern. It has a seven octave range and allows the performer to have breath control of the instruments vibrato and dynamics.
